New Video for CKY’s Single ‘Replaceable’

CKY have debuted their brand new video ‘Replaceable’ taken from their new album The Phoenix.

First premiered on Loudwire, you can listen to the track here: https://youtu.be/8BJcJalxEdo

https://www.youtube.com/embed/8BJcJalxEdo

Produced/Directed by JOFFco, ‘Replaceable’ is the second music video from the band’s LP The Phoenix.

“The video for ‘Replaceable’ captures just how ridiculous the whole process of making a music video is,” says the band. “And how bands have so many bad ideas pitched to them so we figured we put a bunch of them into one video. It’s a comical look about our hunt to find an average director to shoot a decent music video and the struggle that ensued. Enjoy!”

The Phoenix was released on 16th June 2017 via eOne / SPV and is the first release from CKYsince they put out Carver City in 2009. The album was engineered and mixed at Rancho De La Luna, the highly regarded recording studio in Joshua Tree, CA.

CKY are currently playing the entirety of the 2017 Vans Warped Tour and is the band’s first time retuning to Warped Tour since 2000. Before that, CKY finished a highly successful thirteen show run of the UK, most of which were sold out.

Final Announcement For Bloodstock Open Air

With three weeks to go til the metal hoards descend on Catton Park for a weekend of heavy merriment, BLOODSTOCK is pleased to reveal the final bands for this year and some extracurricular entertainment!

Joining the Ronnie James Dio main stage on Sunday are hotly tipped five-piece VENOM PRISON (pictured) (www.facebook.com/venomprison). The Welsh death metallers romped home with the Best New Band gong at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards last month.  Check out their latest video ‘Perpetrator Emasculation’, taken from their Prosthetic Records debut, ‘Animus’ – https://youtu.be/7I5vy2luGhQ.

Regrettably, we’ve two switches as MANTAR have had to withdraw from their slot on the Sophie Lancaster stage on Saturday, but the very capable RED RUM (www.facebook.com/redrummetal) will fill their boots.  Hailing from the Saxon county of Notts, don’t miss this folk-metal collection of cut-throat pirates, epic Vikings, and bloodthirsty warriors! Discover ‘Booze & Glory’ at: https://youtu.be/ZJPLOzGZvWg.  Also due to circumstances beyond our control, SCARAB will no longer be able to appear, so UK thrash heroes, XENTRIX (www.facebook.com/xentrixmetal) will make a welcome return debuting their new singer (who they met at BLOODSTOCK last year) and step into their Saturday evening Sophie Stage spot.

BLOODSTOCK can also now announce the final batch of bands from this year’s Metal 2 The Masses competition.  Performing on the Hobgoblin New Blood stage Friday will be Hitchin victors RAZE THE VOID (www.facebook.com/RazeTheVoid) with their brand of prog meets melo-death, Oxford metal champions K-LACURA (www.facebook.com/klacura), and tech riffers EMBODIMENT (www.facebook.com/embodimentofficial) who won in Bristol. Saturday welcomes Yorkshire metalheads HOOFKNUCKLE (www.facebook.com/hoofKnuckle), who took first prize in Selby, and Lincs tog dogs HUNDRED YEAR OLD MAN (www.facebook.com/hundredyearoldman). Rounding things out on Sunday are Northants hard rockers SWITCHBLADE CITY (www.facebook.com/SwitchBladeCityUK), London tech progsters SENTIENCE (www.facebook.com/SentienceUK), Birmingham alternative prog victors NETHERHALL (www.facebook.com/NetherhallUK), and electro rockers SEETHING AKIRA (www.facebook.com/seethingakira), who grabbed the top spot in Bournemouth. Also joining the fun on Sunday are Hobgoblin upload winners, BATTALIONS (www.facebook.com/BattalionsSludge), bringing the sludge and grind from their hometown of Hull.

BLOODSTOCK has also managed to squeeze one more band on to the Jagermeister stage on Sunday.  If you like old school thrash, be sure to head over to catch Kettering headbangers UNITRA (www.facebook.com/unitraband).

Not sure where to visit first or maybe it’s your first trip to BLOODSTOCK?  Download the BLOODSTOCK app to view this year’s site map or visit www.bloodstock.uk.com/pages/event-info for the map and a wealth of other useful info!

Each night after the bands finish on the Sophie stage, there’s plenty of entertainment happening with DJs playing your favourite rock and metal tracks into the early hours.  There’ll also be lots of fire as we welcome the return of the PYROHEX ladies on all three nights, and back by popular demand on Friday night is METAL KARAOKE.

If you happened to snap up VIP Serpents Lair tickets, there’s a number of exclusive sets for you in the VIP bar.  Friday we welcome everyone’s favourite Star Wars-themed outfit, DARTH ELVIS & THE IMPERIALS (www.facebook.com/darthelvis/), Saturday sees slots from UK stoner rockers STEAK (www.facebook.com/steakuk) and doom/punk/blues duo, NOISEPICKER (www.facebook.com/noisepickernoisepicker/), while Sunday will feature classic rock & metal covers squad, BLACK SHOT ROSE (www.facebook.com/BlackShotRose).

The JOURNEYS ALTERNATIVE PRESS MUSIC AWARDS, FUELED BY MONSTER ENERGY Makes Triumphant Return to Cleveland for its Fourth Year

#APMAs Trends Worldwide on Twitter and Facebook for Fourth Consecutive Year, Reaching #1 Overall on Twitter and #1 Overall Broadcast on Twitch.

CLEVELAND, OH – The 2017 Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards Fueled By Monster celebrated its fourth year with a stellar lineup of presenters, an array of spirited performances and the evidence that rock music in all its myriad sounds and subcultures remains as vibrant as ever. This year’s APMAs took place last night (July 17, 2017) in the venerable KeyBank State Theatre, located in Cleveland’s renowned theater district, where a capacity crowd immersed themselves in a genuine award show setting, with the venue’s magnificent features further heightening the excitement of the evening. In addition to the joy felt by those experiencing the show in the intimate setting of the State, the excitement went international via a worldwide broadcast via Amazon Music and Twitch.

Hosted by Black Veil Brides and Andy Black frontman Andy BiersackAPMAs v.4 was a feast for the eyes and ears of those tuning in. Starting with a high-spirited version of “Good Time” by All Time Low (whose wisecracking guitarists Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat emceed the show’s two previous years), the event went straight vertical from there, powered by an array of inspired performances. This year’s selection of once-in-a-lifetime collaborations were Japanese rock ambassadors ONE OK ROCK teaming up with Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann on”I Was King”; New Years Day-led by AP‘s sultry red carpet co-host Ash Costello-showed that sisters were doing it for themselves with some help from Halestormfrontwoman Lzzy Hale on a cover of “Only Happy When It Rains” by alt-rock icons Garbage. Fearless Records’ Punk Goes… series came to life when Grayscale performed a cover of Justin Bieber (“Love Yourself”) before enlisting State Champs’ Derek DiScanio to rock out Sean Mendez’ “Stitches.” Plain White T’s performed a dialed-down acoustic version of their 2005 hit “Hey There, Delilah,” while metal mavericks Nothing More also left their amps off for a compelling three-song set that included “Go To War,” “This Is The First Time (Ballast),” and a compelling version of Skrillex’s “First Of The Year.” Things heated up once again when The Pretty Reckless threw some fire with “Hangman”; Pierce The Veil delivered a rousing performance of “Circles,” as well as a stirring cover of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”; brooding rockers Starset captivated the crowd with “Satellite”; and Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness visited “Cecilia And The Satellite” and other moments in his career from his days in Something Corporate (“I Woke Up In A Car”) and Jack’s Mannequin (“Dark Blue”). Wiseguy savants Waterparks essentially wrote pop-punk’s next chapter with “Stupid For You,” Dance Gavin Dance revved up the crowd with “Betrayed By The Game,” while Sleeping With Sirens enlisted a youth choir to perform “Legends,” the first single from their impending album.”

The APMAs keeps to the beat of culture, which is why the event featured a powerful “drum explosion” from three of music’s finest drummers: Adrian Young of DREAMCAR and No DoubtSum 41‘s Frank Zummo and very special guest Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots. The trio brought the house down with a dazzling display of impeccable musicianship and show-biz flash. Not to be outdone though, show host Biersack and his wife Juliet Simms delivered a heartrending performance of international superstar Adele’s “When We Were Young.” While rock and punk were the order of the night, the APMAs repped the city’s hip-hop cred in a big way, with a tough performance from old-school avatars Bone Thugs (“1st Of Tha Month,” “Crossroads,” “Coming Home”) and electrifying next-gen prime mover Machine Gun Kelly (“Gunner,” “Let You Go”).

This year’s set of honorary APMAs “Skullys” included the introduction of the new Influencer award, which was given to musical polymath John Feldmann for his multi-faceted and highly storied career working with artists across all genres. Icon Award recipient Laura Jane Graceof Against Me! was recognized for her advocacy in the transgender community, promoting awareness and cultural understanding. After receiving this year’s honorary Icon award from PVRIS’ Lynn Gunn and Mina Caputo of NYC metal unit Life Of Agony, Grace took the stage with Against Me! for some life-affirming versions of “I Was A Teenage Anarchist” and an amazing medley including “Delicate, Petite And All The Things I’ll Never Be,” the Supremes’ 1964 hit “Where Did Our Love Go,” and “True Trans Soul Rebel” – two of which featured passionate, crowd-stirring duets with Caputo.

Nü-metal progenitors Korn were given the Vanguard award for their significant influence in the realm of heavy music. This year’s Philanthropic Grant award sponsored by Hopeless/Sub City was given to Cassie Wilson, the founder of Half Access, whose organization (halfaccess.org) supplies information regarding various music venues’ ability to accommodate disabled patrons. Wilson was brought to the stage by Dan Campbell, frontman for strident pop-punk outfit, The Wonder Years.

Japanese EDM Idols Sell Out At UK Debut

HYPER JAPAN Festival at London’s Tobacco Dock last weekend saw JPU Records achieve record sales. The London based Japanese music specialists – who were among HYPER JAPAN’s official sponsors along with Kirin Ichiban, NHK World and Nintendo – managed to sell close to 1000 CDs during the three day celebration of Japanese culture. Sales were boosted by the debut European appearance of latest signing Moso Calibration.

Moso Calibration is an enchanting idol group from Japan’s Akihabara district that fuse super cute J-pop with aggressive EDM beats and drum and bass flare. Their overseas exclusive album GREATEST HITS WORLD ∞ SELECTION was available at HYPER JAPAN ahead of its official UK release on 4 August 2017, and had sold out by Saturday morning. The 14 track collection sees the group collaborate with a number of cutting edge names in Japanese fashion, design and video production and has the majority of its tracks written under BABYMETAL producer Yuyoyuppe’s electronic alter ego DJ’TEKINA//SOMETHING. Tracks Geki Yaba∞Bokka-n!! and Sakurairo Diary have also been selected as theme songs for anime now streaming outside of Japan on Amazon Prime and Crunchy Roll. The below music video is one of JPU Records’ favourites from the album, entitled “Chi Chin Pui Pui”, meaning the equivalent of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo or Abracadabra in Japanese.

Before jetting back to Japan to begin preparations for their first tour of Asia, each member commented about their experience in London;

Mahiru Kurumizawa: “I was so glad to come to HYPER JAPAN! I have never experienced such great memories. I went to Big Ben, Covent Garden and some more places. Everybody was kind and lovely. I want to stay more. Also British idol fans were so enthusiastic and passionate. I was impressed these guys were good at speaking Japanese. I would like to come back to London soon! If you visit Japan, come meet us! <3”

Usa Sakurano: “I was so happy to see everybody in London enjoying our music together. Since we are otaku from Akihabara, we would like to introduce pop culture like anime and game to London! We will come back with more anime songs!”

Nia Hoshino: “It was great to see how idols are accepted as a part of Japanese culture and we were so proud to perform representing Japan!”

Iori Amamiya: “It was my first time in Europe and the first live in Europe was very exciting to me. The audience was completely different form Japan, and I could see the fans from the stage enjoying the music in their own way. Meet and greet was also fun. Even though I’m not good at English, I was so happy meeting the fan that I spoke English a lot!! I want to come back to the U.K. someday!”

Yumeko Mizuki: “The way they get excited to EDM was nice to see. Enjoying music together with London audience who have totally different culture and language made me feel confident. I can’t wait to come back here for a solo concert someday!!”

Arch Enemy Announce “The World Is Yours”

Although, I didn’t know that they were the ones to tell people that. Sweet! Thanks guys!

ARCH ENEMY have risen once again and are ready to accelerate at full force as they unleash the masterful new single, “The World Is Yours”, taken from their forthcoming album, “Will To Power”, due out on September 8 via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS worldwide.

Mastermind Michael Amott comments, “We’ve been hard at work on the new album for a while now and we’re proud to present the first taste of new Arch Enemy music in over three years with our new single and video, ‘The World Is Yours’! This was the first song I wrote for the upcoming ‘Will To Power’ album and Daniel (Erlandsson, drums) helped me arrange and finish it up. One of many songs we co-wrote and co-produced this time around. We had a blast recording together with the full band in the south of Sweden and then mixing with Jens Bogren, who did a superb mix and mastering – in my opinion even surpassing the epic sound on our previous record, ‘War Eternal’. People that have heard this song in particular are saying it’s got the classic anthemic Arch Enemy vibe going on, and I think they might be right about that… Looking forward to playing it live on stage later this summer!”

Directed by Patric Ullaeus, the massive debut track can be heard and seen here: https://youtu.be/lk2-bgwA0Ro

The World Is Yours” will be offered as an instant download with all digital pre-orders and is also available on all streaming platforms.

You can find all physical and digital formats here: http://willtopower.centurymedia.com

“Will To Power” promises to be the ultimate statement of heavy metal supremacy and will mark the first album the band have recorded with their current line-up — ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ (Vocals), MICHAEL AMOTT (Guitars), JEFF LOOMIS (Guitars), SHARLEE D’ANGELO (Bass), and DANIEL ERLANDSSON (Drums). The album was co-produced by AMOTT and ERLANDSSON, while being mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren.

Following the immense critical acclaim from their anthem-laden triumph of 2014, “War Eternal”, ARCH ENEMY will continue to bring their thunderous live performances to fans worldwide on the “Will To Power 2017 International Tour” this fall, followed by a busy summer making appearances across the European festival market. The first leg of the tour will stretch across Eastern Europe from September 15 to October 11 with direct support from Jinjer. Further dates across Europe and North America are soon to be revealed. Japanese Instrumental Rockers “Mono” Announce Tour Down Under

Japanese instrumental rock outfit MONO are returning to Australian shores this November in a tour presented by Bird’s Robe and TheMusic.com.au. In celebration of ten years since their debut visit to Australia, the band will visit Adelaide for the first time EVER in their history, as well as returning to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Perth.

Ten years on from their debut Australian tour, this visit follows their 2016 album “Requiem for Hell” and will feature the band playing music that spans their entire catalogue across a close to two hour show.

MONO was originally formed in 1999 – their unique approach of blending orchestral arrangements and shoegaze guitar noise in their music has been held in extremely high regard; so much so, that the band’s musicianship was praised by British Magazine NME: “This is music for the Gods”. One of the most monumental live memories of the band was a special set of shows with a 23-piece orchestra in New York, Tokyo, London and Melbourne.

Their annual world tour consists of around 150 shows. The band has now visited over 55 countries and proudly holds the stake of being one of the most internationally successful bands in Japan. Among their fans, they are revered as one of the best live bands in rock.

After releasing 10 successful albums including a live album with New York orchestra, the band received the highly regarded award “The Marshall Hawkins Awards: Best Musical Score – Featurette” from the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema for their collaborative short film “Where We Begin” in 2015.

In 2016, the band recorded their 9th album “Requiem For Hell” with Steve Albini at Electrical Audio, Chicago and was released worldwide on Oct 14, 2016. The album was accompanied by a feature documentary documenting the band’s history through to the current day.

Having cemented their place amongst their post-rock and shoegaze contemporaries such as Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, My Bloody Valentine and Mogwai, MONO are nonetheless peerless in terms of their incendiary live performances. Returning once again to our shores, this tour is a very special celebration of MONO’s affinity with Australia, the scene of some of their greatest shows.

Check out their video for the song “Requiem From Hell“.
